Contests

  • Member's Choice: A much anticipated feature of our convention is the Members’ Choice Contest. Members submit digital images which are judged by the entire CNPA membership. Click here to go to the yearly convention page where more details can be found. Winners are always announced at the beginning of the convention.  All Active Member's Choice Contests and Past Winner Galleries
  • Quarterly Contests: Each quarter, regions have the option to hold a photo contest where region members submit two entries and then vote for the winners, using the same software as the member's choice contest. To see all active and completed contests, click here, which will take you to a separate website.
  • PSA Interclub Competitions

As a club member of the Photographic Society of America (PSA), CNPA gives members the opportunity to participate in international photography competitions and showcase their work alongside photographers from around the world. Currently, CNPA competes in PSA's Pictorial Print Interclub Competition, an open-subject competition featuring color, monochrome, and creative altered reality prints. Three rounds of competition are held each year, and CNPA members are invited to submit their work for consideration.

Participating offers several benefits:

        • Gain exposure in a worldwide competition involving photography clubs from more than 80 countries
        • Receive feedback and scores on images selected for competition
        • Have opportunities to earn PSA awards, honors and international recognition
        • Learn from viewing successful images from photographers around the globe
        • Connect with fellow CNPA members through the image selection and critique process

Image selection takes place at the annual CNPA Convention and at a smaller fall review session held somewhere in the Carolinas. Members may submit prints whether or not they attend the Convention or fall review session. CNPA previously competed in PSA Nature and Digital Image competitions and hopes to expand participation again in the future. Volunteers are needed to help coordinate these programs, creating even more opportunities for members to compete. If you're interested in helping, contact CNPA's PSA representative, Paul Halphen via email here: psa-rep@cnpa.org

Whether you're an experienced exhibitor or entering your first competition, PSA Interclub is a rewarding way to challenge yourself, improve your photography, and represent CNPA on the international stage.
